UNEXPLAINED: DISAPPEARANCES by Rupert Matthews

Posted on

What happened to the crew of the Mary Celeste?  To the three men tending the lighthouse on an isolated Scottish Island? To Amelia Earhart and her plane? To an entire army in the Egyptian desert?  They all disappeared without a trace, and to this day, no one knows what happened to them.

Rupert Matthews examines all of these famous disappearances and more in this nonfiction book.  He shares the facts about each case and the speculations that attempt to explain the disappearances.  For kids who are interested in strange-but-true tales, this is a fascinating read!

Of course I remember you, Mr. Gissendanner! So great to hear from you! My mom mentioned you were going to bring your class to the library. I hope it was a good visit! Do you still teach 5th graders?
